BERKELEY COLLEGE ANNOUNCES PROMOTIONS
IN INFORMATION ANALYTICS AND CAREER SERVICES

 

Berkeley College has announced two promotions in leadership at the institution. Brian Maher has been named Vice President, Information Analytics, and Amy Soricelli has been promoted to Vice President, Career Services.

As Vice President of Information Analytics, a newly created position, Mr. Maher will be responsible for overseeing the integration and utilization of data-driven decision-making in all aspects of college administration, planning and assessment, including the Office of Institutional Effectiveness.

“This emphasis on maximizing data-driven decision-making allows Berkeley College to optimally serve our students,” said Michael J. Smith, President of Berkeley College. “We are focused on having our students reach the graduation stage on the path to successful careers.”

Mr. Maher served as Vice President, Career Services, for four years at Berkeley College. Under his leadership, the Office of Career Services conducted on average more than 100 events per year focused on supporting Berkeley College graduates’ efforts at employment within their respective fields. Mr. Maher’s work experience at Berkeley since 2005 also includes director positions in Student Development and Campus Life, Alumni Relations, and Athletics.

As the Berkeley College Athletic Director from 2008 to 2013, Mr. Maher expanded the number of athletic programs available to students from two to 13. He also led the College’s membership into the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) and secured conference championships.

Mr. Maher was inducted as a Fellow of the Lead New Jersey (LNJ) Class of 2017 in January. He also was inducted into the Phi Alpha Theta National History Honor Society in 1990 and the Pi Gamma Mu International Honor Society in Social Science in 1991. He holds a BA in History from Le Moyne College in Syracuse, NY.

As Vice President of Career Services, Amy Soricelli will be responsible for providing leadership, vision, and support to the Career Services staff at all Berkeley College locations, and for overseeing the Office of Alumni Relations.

Ms. Soricelli joined Berkeley College in 2009 as Assistant Vice President, Career Services. She also has overseen the Berkeley College Office of Alumni Relations since 2014. She was the recipient of the Berkeley College 2012 Associate of the Year Award for Customer Service, and the Berkeley College Associate of the Year 2010 Honorable Mention Award for Customer Service.

Ms. Soricelli has more than 30 years of experience in the fields of talent recruitment and career services. Additionally, she is recognized as a national expert in LinkedIn utilization. Prior to joining Berkeley, Ms. Soricelli was Account Manager at Taylor Grey, a staffing firm where her primary focus was the placement of administrative support in New York City, Connecticut and Long Island. Ms. Soricelli served almost 14 years as Director of Placement at the Katharine Gibbs School. There she won the Top Placement Award for eight consecutive years.

Ms. Soricelli is a graduate of Herbert H. Lehman College where she earned an MS in Specialized Services in Education with a focus on Guidance and Counseling and a BA in English.
