BERKELEY COLLEGE ANNOUNCES MAY EVENTS

 

 

NEW JERSEY CAMPUSES

 

 

The following event will take place at Berkeley College, Bergen Campus, 64 East Midland Avenue, Paramus: 

 

May 15   

 

Berkeley College will host an Open House from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.  The event offers all interested students immediate information regarding acceptance for the upcoming quarter.  Guests will have the opportunity to meet and greet staff and faculty and learn about online degree programs, as well as financial aid and scholarship opportunities.  Transfer students will learn about transfer opportunities.  Students interested in immediate decision must bring high school transcripts and take an entrance examination; however, those students who have already completed an Associate’s degree are exempt from the exam.  For further information, please call 1-800-446-5400, ext. May 8 - 23

 

The Berkeley College Office of Student Development and Campus Life and the School of Liberal Arts present their Second Annual Spring Theatre Festival in the Knuppel Hall Community Room.  All performances will celebrate George Bernard Shaw, the Irish playwright who wrote more than 60 plays. Nearly all of his work dealt with prevailing social problems, but with a vein of comedy.  Shaw examined themes such as education, marriage, religion, government, health care, and class privilege. This Open Door Theatre production will be performed by a cast of Berkeley College staff, faculty, and students, including Berkeley College Professors Thomas Farrington and Margaret Biner.  The cast also includes Nicholas Wilder, a professional actor.

The Newark Regional Business Partnership (NRBP) invites colleagues to “Let’s Do Lunch,” a networking luncheon from noon to 2:00 pm, hosted and sponsored by Berkeley College.  Enjoy a delicious buffet, and meet and greet other business professionals from the Newark area.  NRBP members pay $25, and nonmembers pay $45.  (After May 6, the cost increases by $10.)  You can reserve your seat online (www.newarkrpb.org.), by fax (973-824-6587), or by phone (973-242-4203). NEW YORK CAMPUSES

 

 

The following events will take place at Berkeley College, Midtown Campus, 3 East 43rd Street, New York City:

 

May 1, 8, 15, and 22

 

Berkeley College School of Continuing Education will offer Academic Refresher Workshops from 10:00 am to 2:30 pm.  They are presented by Berkeley College faculty members who have experience in teaching basic reading, writing, or math courses and have been trained in test-taking strategies.  The Math Refresher Workshops are open to students who have applied to Berkeley College. Participants will practice and review arithmetic skills needed to show proficiency when taking ACCUPLACER (the nationally recognized placement test).  The Reading and Writing Workshop leaders will review the skills necessary to show proficiency on the reading, sentence skills, and writing sections of ACCUPLACER.  A consultation with an admissions representative is required before registration.  For more information, please call 212-986-4343, ext. 4511.
