BERKELEY COLLEGE ANNOUNCES

MAY EVENTS

 

May 1 and 10

 

Berkeley College is partnering with the Newark Public Library to host health fairs in honor of  National High Blood Pressure Education Month. Berkeley College students enrolled in the School of Health Studies program will give free blood pressure screenings to the Library’s visitors. Whole Foods Market will provide visitors with healthy snacks on both days.

 

Both health fairs will take place in the main lobby of the Newark Public Library, 5 Washington Street, Newark, NJ.  The first event on May 1 is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 12 noon, and the second event on May 10 will be from 12 noon to 3 p.m.

Criminal Justice Workshop:  This workshop is for you if you are interested in understanding the various occupations in the American criminal justice system and identifying potential career options.  Get firsthand insight into this exciting field from criminal justice experts.  Time: 6 to 8 p.m.  Students must be at least 16 years of age to attend.  For more information, call 800-446-5400, ext. May 25

 

Interior Design Workshop:  Learn about this exciting field from interior design experts.  Meet with faculty and alumni from the Berkeley College Interior Design department, and work with them to create your own project using professional design software.  Time: 6 to 8 p.m.  Students must be at least 16 years of age to attend.  For more information, call 800-446-5400, ext. May 17

 

Berkeley College will host the Fourth Annual National Security Forum - National Security:  Events That Changed Our Way of Life Forever - from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

 

Presenters and panelists will discuss our nation’s heroes and stories of those who responded to attacks.  They will also address threats and concerns to national security.    

 

Michael J. Smith, President of Berkeley College, will welcome the attendees.   Kathy Sanders is the keynote speaker.  She became the face for the media of the Oklahoma City bombing on April 19, 1995.  Ms. Sanders was one of the first to arrive on the scene of the horrific attack.
