David Donow, a 23-year veteran of the Bergen County Police Department K-9 Unit, and his partner Shango, a 6-year-old Belgian Malinois, recently visited with Justice Studies – Criminal Justice students at Berkeley College in Paramus. During his presentation, Sgt. Donow spoke about the important role the K-9 Unit plays in law enforcement. The officer told the students that earlier this year Shango led officers to $4 million worth of narcotics that were hidden inside a fake diesel tank. The presentation was an initiative of the Berkeley College Criminal Justice Club and the Office of Student Development and Campus Life at the Paramus location.
