WINDOWSWEAR MUSEUM AT BERKELEY COLLEGE
CELEBRATES HOLIDAY SEASON AND ART OF FASHION
WITH KLEINFELD

See caption below.

The WindowsWear Museum at Berkeley College celebrated the holiday season with more than 100 professionals from New York’s fashion industry during a reception on December 5, 2017. Hosted at the Berkeley College campus at 12 East 41st Street in Midtown Manhattan, the exhibit unveiled a new installation from Kleinfeld. The addition is part of the WindowsWear Museum at Berkeley College’s mission to preserve the historic and artistic roles of window displays in the fashion industry.

Titled “New Journey,” the display was created specifically for the WindowsWears Museum at Berkeley College, and was inspired by a holiday display that currently appears in the window of the flagship bridal salon in Manhattan, home to TLC’s television show, “Say Yes to the Dress.” Incorporating classic wedding elements, the display’s theme of travel, discovery and lifelong adventure highlights the transition of engagement to marriage through the visual of an airport X-ray scanning machine.

“Good visual merchandising starts with a good story,” said Jacques Vigneault, Vice President Creative Director, Kleinfeld. “The window display my team and I created reflects the lifelong journey of adventure for many brides who take the plunge in a Kleinfeld dress or accessory.”

“It is impressive to see that Berkeley College and WindowsWear are both dedicated to supporting visual arts while educating students of the importance of branding and visual merchandising,” said Mara Urshel, Co-Owner, Kleinfeld.

The addition from Kleinfeld accompanies installations from brands Coach and Saks Fifth Avenue housed in the WindowsWear Museum at Berkeley College. The exhibit is open to the public from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily on the first floor of the Berkeley College campus at 12 East 41st Street in Midtown Manhattan, and is the first stop on WindowsWear walking tours of notable fashion windows in Manhattan.

“These displays are true works of art,” said Ted Havelka, Campus Operating Officer, Berkeley College in Midtown Manhattan. “This exhibit gives the community, and our students from the Berkeley College Fashion Merchandising and Management program, a chance to further explore the time and effort that goes into creating such a vital visual representation for fashion brands.”

“The WindowsWear Museum at Berkeley College was created to be at the intersection of fashion and education,” said Jon Harari, CEO & Co-Founder, WindowsWear. Raul Tovar, Creative Director & Co-Founder, WindowsWear, added, “There is so much inspiration and heritage behind every element inside of a window display. We want people to look at those amazing things in the same way they view other museum exhibits and appreciate a piece of art.”
