WHAT: Designers-in-residence from theBROOKLYNfashionincubator (BFI) at Berkeley College will participate in a special pop-up sale at fashion boutique Noir et Blanc in New York, NY, on November 10, 2016. In addition to Noir et Blanc’s Fall offerings, the special holiday pop-up sale event will display unique clothing, accessories and footwear from New York based brands like Amber PoitierMon Petit CoeurBlackPhumelele and The Shoe-B.

This event not only provides attendees a chance to get a head-start on holiday shopping while enjoying champagne and hor d’oeuvres, but also an opportunity to meet local designers who have been developing their own businesses through the BFI at Berkeley College, ranging from African-inspired designs to clothing for infants and toddlers. Five percent of the sales made during this pop-up sale will also be donated to Hearts of Gold, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to helping homeless mothers and their children.

The BFI at Berkeley College is one of five fashion incubators supported by Macy’s in talent-rich areas across the United States, giving its five designers access to work space, supplies and advice from leading experts in all facets of the fashion business, including sourcing, production, marketing and e-commerce.

As the host institution in Brooklyn, Berkeley College provides the design space for the incubator and the necessary equipment, including sewing machines, dress forms, and work areas at its campus on Duffield Street in the downtown area. The incubator also utilizes Fashion Merchandising and Management student interns from Berkeley College who are looking to learn the industry. Learn more about the BFI at Berkeley College here.
