COLLEGE STUDENTS FROM CHINA SHOW ENTREPRENEURIAL AND CULTURAL SPIRIT AT BERKELEY COLLEGE IN WHITE PLAINS

WHAT:   Young college students from China have been participating in a summer program at Berkeley College in White Plains, NY. Before they return to the Guizhou Province in their home country, these students will present ideas for new businesses they have created as part of the curriculum on October 17, one of which is an Italian Restaurant in their native Province.  Guizhou is a mountainous province in southwest China known for its traditional rural villages, and inhabited by minority groups like the Miao and Dong.

Other business enterprises the students will present include:
*          China Stone Specialties with offices in China and Portland, Oregon
*          Green Wipes, an environmentally friendly paper products company located in North Royalton, Ohio, a suburb of Cleveland
*          Tree-CANP, a unique entertainment venue in Sanyo, China
*          Health Tracker, an internet application for bettering the health and lifestyles of others, and
*          Nashi, a Chinese food restaurant in New York City that introduces its patrons to Chinese culture

Part of their American cultural immersion included studying Business Communication and refining their English skills at Berkeley College in White Plains, NY.   These students also were paired with selected American student ambassadors with whom they have created extraordinary bonds and lasting relationships.  They lived in the residence halls and went on field trips together.
