BERKELEY COLLEGE TO BE INDUCTED INTO THE BUSINESS COUNCIL OF
WESTCHESTER BUSINESS
HALL OF FAME

Berkeley College Campus Operating Officer, Westchester Campus, Cynthia Rubino is pleased to announce that Berkeley College and the Luing family have been recognized by the Business Council of Westchester as Family Business of the Year for 2009. The Family Business Success Award is given to a business that demonstrates positive results by combining a winning business strategy with a strong family work ethic.

“The Luing family has created and cultivated an educational institution that has evolved and kept abreast with the changing needs of the economy and the community for over 45 years. The Luing family legacy is that year after year, Berkeley graduates become successful career professionals who make a difference in the community,” said Ms. Rubino.

The College now joins the long list of prestigious companies to be inducted into the Westchester County Business Hall of Fame. The four other companies to receive awards this year are: New York Life Insurance Company; Hospitality Resource Group, Inc.; The Dorf Law Firm LLP; and Collins Brothers Moving Corporation. The induction ceremony will take place on April 22 at the Glen Island Harbour Club in New Rochelle, NY.

The Business Council of Westchester established the Westchester County Business Hall of Fame in 2002 to reward the achievements of the county’s most successful, community-minded businesses.

Since opening a campus in Westchester in 1945, Berkeley College has established not only a strong commitment to its growing student body but also a vision to keep pace with a changing climate.

“Our Westchester Campus has graduated individuals who have contributed to a vibrant regional economy,” said Berkeley College Provost Rose Mary Healy. “Today in Westchester Berkeley College employs 75 associates, instructs more than 700 students, provides on-campus housing for 215, and has placed more than 100 interns in meaningful positions supporting business throughout the County.”

A leader in business education for 78 years, Berkeley College currently maintains an enrollment of over 7,200 students, with more than 700 international students in its Baccalaureate and Associate degree programs. The College has two New York campuses in Midtown Manhattan and White Plains, an Extension Center in Lower Manhattan in the Wall Street area, and four New Jersey campuses located in Woodland Park (formerly West Paterson), Paramus, Woodbridge, and Newark. In addition, the College offers Berkeley College Online™ and its Corporate Learning Partnership program. All campuses are accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.
