Photo Caption A: Berkeley College associates and students recently participated in a 9/11 Day of Service in New York City in memory of the victims of the September 11 attacks. The volunteers first paid their respects at the 9/11 Memorial and then helped with restorative work on the CITYarts mural, which was created in 2002 on the Lower East Side to commemorate the heroes of September 11. The 9/11 Day of Service was part of the Berkeley Cares initiative, which throughout the year assists charities in the critical areas of food, shelter, health and student success. Pictured (left to right) painting the mural are Berkeley College students Kimberly Pennington of White Plains, Sharla Hanley of Manhattan, and Dana Jacob of White Plains.
