Photo Caption: Berkeley College student Francisco Almanzar of Manhattan, NY, was recently recognized for winning first place for his essay on the topic “What Keeps You Motivated to Graduate?” More than 100 Berkeley College students participated in the 2015 Online Essay Contest in celebration of National Distance Learning Week, which recognizes growth and accomplishments in the field of online learning. “I want to visit new places, see new faces, and move others to follow,” Mr. Almanzar writes. “I do believe that many students at Berkeley are there for the same reason. We are here simply because deep down inside we know that we are ready for change and it is our time.” To read the winning essays, click here. This month, Berkeley College was ranked among the Best Colleges for Online Bachelor’s Degree Programs by U.S. News & World Report for the third consecutive year.
