Smith, President of Berkeley College, told the students. “This recognition of academic achievement also positions you competitively as leaders in your chosen professions.” Students were inducted into seven honor societies that recognize achievements in specific disciplines: Alpha Phi Sigma, criminal justice; Alpha Sigma Lambda, adult and non-traditional students; the Financial Management Association, finance; Lambda Epsilon Chi, legal studies; Mu Kappa Tau, marketing; Phi Theta Kappa, students pursuing two-year degrees; and Sigma Beta Delta, business and management. In February, more than 70 students were also inducted into the Berkeley College chapter of the National Society of Leadership and Success. Students are inducted into the societies based on grade point average, class ranking, or leadership potential.
