BERKELEY COLLEGE HONORS MARILYN FRASIER KULIK

WITH ONLINE FACULTY OF THE YEAR AWARD

Berkeley College recently honored Marilyn Frasier Kulik, PhD, by presently her with the Online Faculty of the Year Award for Outstanding Teaching.  This award recognizes a faculty member who is a role model in demonstrating commitment to the success of Berkeley College students.  Dr. Kulik began her Berkeley College career in 2001 as a Professor, Liberal Arts and Sciences, teaching sociology and anthropology courses, and taught her first two online courses in 2002.

“Marilyn has been a creative, innovative force in online teaching,” says Berkeley College Online Dean Carol Smith. “She has a special ability to draw her students into important new areas of intellectual experiences.  Her courses are designed to encourage social understanding, and students flourish under her guidance.”

Dr. Kulik has had eight years of experience developing and teaching more than 50 online and blended courses in the social sciences using the Blackboard course management system. She served three years as Chair of the Liberal Arts and Sciences Department, and this past summer she began a faculty blog, “Where in the World is Professor Kulik?” on the Berkeley College website.

Before coming to Berkeley College she was an independent researcher/consultant for projects commissioned by the U.S. Census Bureau and Fortune 500 companies.  She has worked as a historian for Richard Grubb and Associates and as a project manager for the New Jersey Family Farmer Health Study.

Dr. Kulik holds a BA degree in Sociology from Richard Stockton State College, Pomona, NJ, and an MA and PhD in Social Anthropology from Rutgers University, New Brunswick, NJ.

A leader in business education for 79 years, Berkeley College maintains an enrollment of more than 8,000 students, including 665 international students in its Baccalaureate and Associate degree programs. The College has four New Jersey campuses located in Woodland Park (formerly West Paterson), Paramus, Woodbridge, and Newark; two New York campuses in Midtown Manhattan and White Plains; and an Extension Center in Lower Manhattan in the Wall Street area.  In addition, the College offers Berkeley College Online and Corporate Learning Partnerships.
