BERKELEY COLLEGE GRADUATES FROM PASSAIC COUNTY PASS
CERTIFIED MEDICAL ASSISTANT EXAM

Residents of Passaic County, NJ, recently passed the Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) exam administered by the American Association of Medical Assistants. The students are graduates of the Medical Assistant program at Berkeley College.

“Medical Assistant students learn current industry practices and receive hands-on training with modern medical devices and technology,” said Gabriel Holder, MD, RMA, CCMA, CBCS, Chair, Medical Assistant program, Berkeley College School of Health Studies. “With certification, these professionals are prepared to work in a variety of healthcare settings, making them a vital part of any medical team.”

The following graduates from Passaic County have passed the exam:

- Adriana M. Forero-Rodriguez of Paterson

- Miriam Perez of Wayne

The CMA designation is a national credential indicating that the Medical Assistant meets certain standards of competence. In addition to taking vital signs and preparing patients for, and assisting doctors with, patient examinations, Medical Assistants can collect and prepare laboratory specimens and perform basic laboratory tests on the premises. In the State of New Jersey, Medical Assistants who hold the CMA credential are permitted to administer injections.
