BERKELEY COLLEGE CREATES SPECIAL MEMORIES
FOR CHILDREN OF FALLEN U.S. TROOPS

Sixteen military families had the opportunity to go behind the scenes at a recent Subway Series baseball game, thanks to Berkeley College, Modell’s Sporting Goods, and Snowball Express, an organization dedicated to creating happy memories for the children of fallen U.S. troops.

The event, which took place at Citi Field, featured a meet-and-greet with the Yankees and the Mets, as well as tickets to watch the game from the Mo’s Zone section of right field.

“Berkeley College is proud to be part of this event, which gives back to military families,” said Richard E. Robitaille, EdD, Berkeley College Assistant Vice President, Office of Military and Veterans Affairs. “It was inspiring to watch the children interact with the players and have an experience that they will remember for the rest of their lives.”

Micki Sander, a member of the Snowball Express Board of Directors, said “Snowflake events” like the one at Citi Field give military families an opportunity to bond.

“These children and their families have made the ultimate sacrifice for their country,” she said. “We hope events like these give them something to look forward to, and remind them that their sacrifices are not forgotten.”
