BERKELEY COLLEGE CELEBRATES

HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH

WITH BOOK SIGNING OF ‘HEMINGWAY’S CUBAN SON’

In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, Berkeley College will hold a reception on Wednesday, September 9 at 5:30 pm for artist Raul Villarreal at the Berkeley College New York City Midtown Campus Gallery, 3 East 43rd Street.  Mr. Villarreal will be available to sign “Hemingway’s Cuban Son,” the book he co-authored with his father, Rene Villarreal.

“Hemingway’s Cuban Son” is a fascinating account of how Rene Villarreal came to be Ernest Hemingway’s majordomo, confidant, and friend – his Cuban son.

Berkeley College is also exhibiting the artwork of Mr. Villarreal from Tuesday,  September 1 through Wednesday, September 30.  The exhibit is open to the public from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm Monday through Friday, and from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm on Saturday.

For more information about Mr. Villarreal, please visit the artist’s website:  www.raulvillarreal.com.  Also, for more details about the exhibit, please contact Berkeley College Gallery Curator Robert Keiber at rjk@BerkeleyCollege.edu or 212-252-2065.
