Berkeley College Appoints Thomas L. Thomas as Vice President, Student Development and Campus Life

BERKELEY COLLEGE APPOINTS THOMAS L. THOMAS AS
VICE PRESIDENT, STUDENT DEVELOPMENT AND CAMPUS LIFE
 
Berkeley College Provost Glen Zeitzer, PhD, is proud to announce the appointment of Thomas L. Thomas, PhD, as Vice President, Student Development and Campus Life. In this role, Dr. Thomas will provide leadership, vision and management for all student development programs, including athletics, residence life and counseling services.
 
“Dr. Thomas has dedicated nearly 30 years of his life to higher education, and more specifically to student affairs,” said Dr. Zeitzer. “His experience will be a great asset to Berkeley College in its mission to empower students to achieve great things.”
 
Dr. Thomas most recently served as Dean for Student Development at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York. Before joining FIT, Dr. Thomas was Dean of Students at New York Institute of Technology. He also has served students in the areas of career planning and placement at Hunter College and Pace University, both in New York, as well as at Swarthmore College in Swarthmore, PA.
 
Dr. Thomas has published several articles on topics related to student development and diversity. He holds a PhD in Higher Education/Organizational Sciences and an MSE in Educational Administration from the University of Kansas in Lawrence, KS, and a BA in History from Washburn University in Topeka, KS.
 
A leader in business education for 78 years, Berkeley College maintains an enrollment of over 7,200 students, with more than 700 international students in its Baccalaureate and Associate degree programs.
