            BERKELEY COLLEGE ANNOUNCES MARCH EVENTS

 

 

March 4

 

The Fourth Annual Fashion Show, sponsored by the Berkeley College Office of Student Development and Campus Life, will take place at The Venetian, 546 River Drive, Garfield, from 6:00 – 10:00 pm.  Students will model contemporary apparel from WHO.A.U. formal wear from Biltmore Tuxedos, and stylish gowns from Windsor and Boubou.  Tickets are $35 for students and $45 for guests, with proceeds donated to the American Cancer Society of New Jersey.  The attire is semi-formal, and there will be a raffle and cash bar.  For more information or to purchase tickets, contact Alicia Martinez, Berkeley College Senior Director of Residence Life, at 973-278-5400, ext. 1329, or aam@BerkeleyCollege.edu.

 

March 27

 

Dr. Syleecia Thompson, Berkeley College Professor, School of Business, invites the public to a book signing of Rhythm Without Blues, The Dichotomy of a Music Genre.  Her fascinating tell-all reveals the dark side of the music industry and what an artist has to go through to bring his or her talent to the masses.  The book signing will take place at Shaburi Restaurant, 125 East 39th Street, New York, NY, from 6:00 to 12:00 pm. How to apply for a PIN number and a full explanation of the financial aid process will be discussed.  A presentation will take place on Berkeley College institutional aid in the form of scholarships and grants.  Parents/guardians can request a financial aid planning session by presenting their 2009 income tax returns to a financial aid administrator.  For further information, please call 1-800-446-5400, ext. Berkeley College is exhibiting the work of artist Charles Mingus III at the Midtown Campus Gallery, First Floor Lobby, 3 East 43rd Street.  Mr. Mingus is a gifted and versatile artist who developed his skills in metal spinning, sculpture, and environmental art.  He is also a teacher and lecturer in art and multimedia.  The exhibit is open to the public Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm and on Saturday from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.  An artist’s reception will be held on Wednesday, March 10 from 5:30 to 7:30 pm.  For more information, please contact Berkeley Gallery Curator Robert Keiber at rjk@BerkeleyCollege.edu or 212-252-2065.
