ARTWORK OF TRACY HANNA FOYE OFFERS PLAYFUL ESCAPE AND BALANCE

NEW EXHIBIT AT BERKELEY COLLEGE

Berkeley College is presenting the artwork of Tracy Hanna Foye at its Midtown Manhattan Gallery, 3 East 43rd Street, New York City.  The exhibit is on display from March 1 through 31—Mondays through Fridays—from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm and on Saturdays from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.

Ms. Hanna Foye has lived her entire life in the southern part of the US.  Her childhood was spent in Kingstree, SC, where, even in her early years, she felt like an artist and enjoyed painting.  She studied at Coker College in Hartsville, SC, and received a BA in Fine Art.  Since then, she has had a fulfilling 32-year career as an artist, now residing with her husband in Pawleys Island, SC.

“My latest works are a defiance from what is considered correct and that which is structured,” said Ms. Hanna Foye. “They are playful strides in how colors, shapes and patterns relate to one another.  I compare them with the different colors, shapes and personalities of people in our lives.  It is my hope that viewers will be drawn into my paintings and find their own playful escape and balance.”

She opened an art studio, Dezignworkz, with her business partner Mindy McVay Heilman, where she can both paint and teach classes.  “I love teaching and opening up the creative side of my students,” she said.  “Bringing the joy of art to others is very rewarding.”

“I find Tracy Hanna Foye a fascinating abstract artist, and I am excited for viewers to see her latest body of work,” said Robert Keiber, Curator, Berkeley College, Midtown Manhattan and Brooklyn galleries.

For more information about the exhibit, e-mail Mr. Keiber at rjk@BerkeleyCollege.edu or call 212-252-2065.
